About us
No more "holding the bags"
As a mum of 3 boys who are growing up fast (twins and a younger sibling) I made the conscious decision a few years back to no longer be the one who "held the bags" while the others had fun. I was also keen that the children should have a chance to explore the country they live in. And play in streams. And climb trees. And jump in lakes.

Our adventures started in the Lake District, 4 years ago, and have taken us all over the UK - from canyoning in Scotland, to quay jumping in the Isles of Scilly.

Renovating Broomriggs 5 has has taken over a year to complete, and I'd quite happily move in there permanently tomorrow if I could! Every time we visit, the children have the chance to be children again, we all take big deep breaths of fresh air, and enjoy this beautiful corner of The Lake District.

The sun may not always shine, but as a guide at Honister Slate Mine once said to me "if it wasn't for the rain, it would just be the puddle district". No matter what the weather it's our little slice of "getting away from it all".

We hope that you enjoy Broomriggs 5 as much as we do.
